*Transferred from Tri-C to BYU.
*Served a mission in Paraguay.
*Met my husband in Cleveland who was studying dentistry at CWRU.
*Moved to Utah, opening a practice in Roosevelt.
*Our four children were born within two years of each other.
*I received a Masters in Education, choosing to teach in elementary school.
*Upon my retirement, we built a winter home in St. George, Utah.
*I then went on to teach Kindergarten, then Fourth Grade in St. George, out of retirement!
*Met my neighbor here in St. George, who, coincidentally and to my surprise, graduated from Heights in 1973. Her name is Gloria Rose (Copeland). So glad to have her as my friend and neighbor!
*I’m not planning on renewing my license, so, therefore, I’m forcing myself into retirement.

Things I remember from Heights High:
*Touching a dead frog on the dissecting table in biology reminded me of touching my father’s arm in his casket just weeks before, so I fled the room and went home. I failed the class and had to go to summer school.
*Breathlessly arriving at music class in the school’s loft just to be asked to sing a perfectly pitched note in order to obtain entrance. My note was a ‘g’. Minutes later I was sitting with those who passed the doorway test and was ready to sing. I’ll always have a perpetual ‘g’ in my head, just in case.
*Sitting on the giant dryer vent grate hoping to get soaringly warm.
*Playing wall ball in the little concrete park by the drug store on Lee Road.
*Buying lunch for Lee Road Eddy, who had quickly obtained celebrity status when someone had used his name in a song comparing what our futures might be.
*Eating at White Castle and at Arthur Treachers. I even remember taking the chance of missing a class in order to join friends on Taylor Road to eat falafels.
*Dancing in The Tigers Den.
*Sitting on the library floor with opened books in our hands and talking with each other.
*Sitting on a corner of a stairwell and doing my class work. Thankfully, Roger Warner understood that my creativity needed space away from others.
*Shooting hoops just for fun and surprising the guys.
*Joining the group of kids altering their school ID just to go dancing at the bars…
