Nadine was murdered in 1979.  She was found in the kitchen while her son was found unhurt in his playpen.  As far as I know her murder was never solved.

That is so sad to hear. We became friends at Fairfax and I remember thinking how cool that she was from Egypt. The smell of the different spices in her home and how pretty her turquoise earrings looked against her beautiful skin tone.

Was an "Honor Killing" investigated? I didn't know she was Egyptian... But hey... Back then (1979) who'd a thunk? 'eh?

I'm sorry to hear about this, I can't help but ask, what community did this take place in?

Wow!  I had no idea....she was in a lot of my classes and oh so very nice.  She will be missed.

Years ago, I was horrified to learn that my gentle, considerate friend Nadine Cohen was brutally murdered in 1980 in the sanctuary of her apartment while her child remsined secure in his playpen. Since learning of this my thoughts remained with my dear friend from Roxboro Junior High school days and her husband, baby son and family. Thanks to a recent above post I located information on the Cleveland Jewish News, dated July 7, 2022 that the Willoughby Police found her murderer through DNA evidence. My thoughts upon learning this are too convoluted to post. Instead, I wish Nadine's family a special healing and that her peaceful gentleness thrives and lives on within their hearts.
Until we meet again, Nadine, thank you for your sweet memories. You were one of the best.
