I knew David, his brother Joey, and his two wonderful parents, Pat and Dan, whose wild and irreverent senses of humor and deep skepticism toward authority and windbags of every variety, took up residence in their sons. As a musician, David was interested in music of all kinds, and, at least when I knew him, in high school and for a while after, was curious about everything and had a large capacity for the enjoyment of just about everything, except hypocrisy, intolerance, and hate. He didn't mind if he didn't fit in with whatever "in" crowd may have surrounded him; he was happy to stand apart and be his own person, musician, and artist. There should be more like him.
